J. Chellathai from Dharapuram left her body on November 3rd in Pondicherry’s General Hospital at the age of 73. Having suffered a stroke last year and being diabetic, she died from a gangrene infection.

Planning for the wider bioregion: Auroville- Pondicherry-Villupuram-Cuddalore

An important meeting in terms of planning for the larger bioregion took place on 11th September in Pondicherry. The bioregion was defined as Pondicherry, Auroville, and the surrounding districts of Villupuram and Cuddalore (PAVC), an area of 2500 sq. kilometres that constitutes a distinct ecological bioregion along the Coromandel Coast.

In memoriam - Ajit Koujalgi

On October 12th, Auroville architect Ajit Koujalgi, aged 66, passed away in Apollo hospital in Chennai. He succumbed to the severe injuries he had sustained ten days earlier in a fall from the roof of his house in Samasti community.
