Confluence

On September 17th, at the occasion of the pre-full moon, the Matrimandir executives organised a ‘confluence’ in the Peace Area of the Matrimandir Gardens, inviting Aurovilians, Newcomers and friends to a Coming Together in a consecrated atmosphere in silence, sound contemplation, walking, observing, listening, with simple offerings of flowers and candles under the Banyan Tree.

In November 2019, Auroville Today introduced UTSAV (meaning ‘Celebration’), a combined commercial and residential project which aimed to bring new energy on a major Radial of the Industrial Zone.

This year’s AUM (Auroville Underground Music) Festival, organised by Youth Center, YouthLink and Svaram on March 16 and 17, featured two days of live music and performances by artists from in and around Auroville.

On 29th February, Svaram inaugurated its new Sound Garden at the allocated 2-acre site for its projected campus in the Industrial Zone of Auroville, in the presence of Special Guests of Honour, Thiru R.N.

Bhu was a testimony to Auroville’s potential in bringing together diverse groups of people for synergetic collaborations. Conceived by Phillipe Pelen and Moucazambo Thierry of the visiting French theatre company “Les Porteurs d’eau,” Bhu drew its inspiration chiefly from conversations between the choreographers and Barbara of Ritam, Auroville and the work of Kalarigram, a Kalaripayattu institute in the vicinity of Auroville.

In memoriam - Luise Hansen

A few weeks before her 100th birthday, Luise Hansen left her body on April 21st in Kobe, Japan. Luise, originally from Linz, Austria, had come to Pondicherry in the late sixties and had some personal darshans with The Mother.

Auroville’s eighth marathon took place on February 8th 2015. Around 3,500 people ran the winding dirt trails through Auroville’s forests – the full marathon of 42.195 kilometres, the half marathon of 21 kilometres, the 10K marathon, or, for children and their parents, the shorter run of 5 kilometres.
