Auroville’s development has been intrinsically entwined with the complexities of local cashew cultivation over the decades, so Aurovilian filmmaker Serena Aurora decided to get to the bottom of the story.

On Friday February 17th, Deepam, Auroville’s therapy centre for children with special needs, celebrated 25 years.

Shankar, who was born in a local village, has been a member of the Auroville community for many years. Among his present responsibilities is looking after a dairy herd.
