Josette

Josette, who had been living in Surrender community, passed away on March 17th. She had recently celebrated her 80th birthday, and had been suffering from cancer.

In memoriam - Ellen Eckelmann

Ellen Eckelmann

Ellen Eckelmann left her body on March 30th in her New Community home in Certitude at the age of 79. Since being involved in a motorcycle accident in June 2020, she had been suffering from almost continuous fatigue and Alzheimer's; her frail condition culminated in an epileptic crisis a few days before her passing.

Last School, that hotbed of a bright new wave of young Aurovilians destined, come the year 2001, to take our citadel by storm, was the site, in this pleasant month of December, of two events worth noting: India Week, and the third annual Last School Fair.

Selvi’s Pancha Bhuta

We just had a wonderful encounter! Selvi, a little girl (played by Joy) took us with her in her dream in which she meets the Pancha Bhuta or Five Elements.

Auroville: A cultural desert?

La Musica Deuxième, a play for two actors by Marguerite Duras, was performed this summer by Theatre d’Expression d’Auroville, on three consecutive evenings in Auroville.

Fair, Fun, Food & Theatre!!

At Last School, on 24th December, there will be a fair (in which artists, craftsmen etc. are invited to participate) and a musical drama called “Sleeping Dogs Don’t Lie”.
