In January this year, a project was launched called “Seeking Our Inner Being”. It aimed to gather information on individuals’ connections with their inner being or psychic being, as defined by Sri Aurobindo and The Mother.

Auroville Urban Planning & Development Repository - AUPDR

A group of resource persons, helped by research assistants and web developers have developed an on-line repository of documents pertaining to Auroville’s Urban Planning and Development.

Positive news from Auroville farmers

Auroville farmers reported that despite the recent setbacks, they sent 3,128 kilos of 46 different vegetables, 3,301 kilos of 24 sorts of fruit, 19,764 eggs, 6,327 litres of milk, 846 kilos of various sorts of rice and 327 kg of polished and unpolished varagu (the latter procured from the bioregion and processed in Auroville) to FoodLink in March to be distributed to the Auroville community.

Over the past year, a small team – Pranav, Elaine and Aishwarya – has worked tirelessly to create an impressive website for Auroville Today which incorporates the latest technology and design features.

In memoriam - Trini Blanch

Auroville International Spain reported that on July 4, 2022, Trini Blanch, left her body, at age 57. “She left with a suitcase loaded with love, light, constancy and delivery.

Auroville Art Library

Kirtan and AV Art Service have started a website with an inventory of the artworks of Auroville artists that fellow Aurovilians can temporarily borrow, to enjoy their beauty, and decorate their homes, offices, and activities.

Seeds of a new culture

Last month the dried plant collection of the Auroville Herbarium moved to a new dedicated building in the Botanical Gardens. Funded by SAIIER, inaugurated this March, slowed down a bit by corona, its establishment marks a new phase in the work of preserving and classifying our indigenous flora.

Imagine you’re tapping away on your computer, diligently doing your work for Auroville. It’s bucketing down rain outside, and your computer starts to assert its feelings about the monsoon humidity – stuck keys, a haywire cursor, documents that freeze and programmes that get stuck in never-ending sand clock icons… Just as your patience starts to disappear along with the sand sifting through the hourglass – the computer crashes altogether.

Auroville.com’s website appears a tad conservative for an e-tailer (or e-commerce) unit. “Expect a lot of changes,” says Stephan. “In a few months, it will be all different!”

The Auroville website: a new way of communicating

On August 15th, the new Auroville website was launched. It was the result of almost two and a half years of work. Manoj, who leads the technical team, first became involved with the Auroville website in 1998.

www.auroville.org renewed

A brand new public website for Auroville has now replaced the old one which has been in existence for 14 years. It’s a fresh start with around 350 pages covering basic information on Auroville taken out of 3,000 pages from the old site.

Auroville Today goes digital

After 300 issues and 25 ½ years of existence, Auroville Today will add a digital edition to its print edition. Auroville’s web designers are working hard to make Auroville Today available on tablets and mobile phones.
