Water Group

The Citizens’ Assembly and Auroville Water Group invited people to watch some video's of Aurovilian water players reflecting on our water situation.

Water is very much in the news at present. The Water Group launched a series of weekly Water Talks throughout March and the theme for this year is ‘Celebrating those in the field’.

For six days in early January there was a collaborative planning workshop or charrette involving over 60 Aurovilians and visiting experts. The stated aim of Auroville - A Way Forward was to “bring the purpose of Auroville into our life, built environment and organization’.

More than a year ago, in its June-July issue 2015, Auroville Today examined the challenges of meeting the city’s future water requirements. One option, that of providing desalinated water, is actively being pursued by Varuna Pvt.
