On 8th August, the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, visited Auroville in commemoration of Sri Aurobindo’s 150th birth anniversary.

The President of India awarded the Padma Shri, India’s fourth-highest civilian award, to Ms. Tara Jauhar at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on March, 21st, 2022, for her work in literature and education, in particular in propagating the teachings of Sri Aurobindo.

On November 14, 2018, Governing Board member Dr. Anirban Ganguly offered an Auroville memento to the Hon’ble President of India, Shri Ram Nath Kovind, who in February 2018 honoured Auroville with a message on the occasion of Auroville’s 50th anniversary, in which he speaks of Auroville as reflecting “our quest for achieving oneness in diversity.”

On International Women’s Day, SHARAN founder and Aurovilian Dr. Nandita Shah received the Nari Shakti Puraskar 2016 from the President of India.
