In a recent issue of News & Notes, a twelve-week course on kolams was announced. It would help people, it said, to “find their compass, reorientate and be able to prioritise direction, regulate boundaries and thresholds within themselves and the surrounding world”.

In honour of the 150th birth anniversary of Sri Aurobindo, the Science and Spirituality conference took place in the Unity Pavilion between 13-15th February.

On 2nd January, Aurovilian Georges Blanchet left his body at the age of 65 in PIMS hospital. He had suffered a general systems collapse caused by a long-festering lung infection, which had become only apparent a few weeks before.

“I have tried to explain the meaning of some words and phrases and images that might be difficult to understand … to assist those who aspire to take some first steps towards experiencing the inexhaustible magic and richness and power of Sri Aurobindo’s incomparable poetry”, writes Shraddhavan in The English of Savitri.

This design, incorporating Mother’s mantra, is by François Samson. François lived in Auroville between 1979 and 1986. He planted many trees and helped bring beauty to an eroded landscape.
