Integrated Transport Service (ITS)

An interesting headline appeared on Auronet recently: “Neem Tree Eatery has joined Dropsy”. Dropsy is the old fashioned term for oedema, which is a build-up of fluid in the body.

The steady increase in private car ownership in Auroville, as well as the hike in outside cars and autos circulating daily within the community, gives rise to the question: Is Auroville falling well behind ‘best practice’ examples of transport that are thriving in other parts of the world?

The Integrated Transport Service (ITS) was launched recently. A new office with several charging points outside – and many electric scooters parked inside – has been built opposite the Solar Kitchen.
