On November 11th, an article in the Times of India mentioned that the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (All India Anna Dravidian Progressive Federation - AIADMK), currently the main opposition party in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, which has great influence in the state of Tamil Nadu and the union territory of Puducherry, demanded a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), India's primary domestic crime-investigating agency, into the alleged irregularities in land exchanges at Auroville.
Felicity and Happiness land exchanges
News in brief
Residents of Felicity and Happiness, two outlying communities having a population of about 20 to 30 residents, have informed the RA-WCom that they are facing challenges since they learned in March of this year that a prime parcel of land of approximately an acre and a half which faces the old Auroville Road had been exchanged for land in the Master Plan area.
In memoriam - Juanita Cole
In memoriam:
Juanita Cole left her body at night on 15 July 2015 in Denver, USA. She was 81 years old. Juanita had been introduced to the concept of Auroville by Younghe and Claude Brun when she was working in the USA embassy in Switzerland.
In memoriam - Tony Barter
In memoriam:
On Wednesday March 4th, Auroville architect Tony Barter suffered a stroke and passed away at his home in Felicity. He was 73 years old. Tony designed distinguished buildings in Israel, Japan and India before joining Auroville 12 years ago.
