Elder care

The Auroville Health Services (AVHS), which provides social and medical homecare for senior Aurovilians, is often asked to extend this service to the elderly parents of long term Aurovilians who, for health reasons, need to be with their children in Auroville.

Dear friends of Auroville Today, With regard to your ‘Caring for the Sick and Elderly’ article in AVToday # 363, I would like to make two observations:

On September 8th, 2019, Dr. Karan Singh, the Chairman of the Auroville Foundation, inaugurated the Mahalakshmi home for elderly Auroville residents.

Albert Zwaan joined Auroville in 1997, after working for 20 years as the head of the outpatient department and operation theatre of a hospital in the Netherlands.
