Sagarika was born and raised in Auroville. In 2019 she went abroad to continue her education and broaden her experience. Recently she returned to Auroville.

Inky Onky

Between 29th January and 10th February, in the Centre d’Art there was an exhibition of drawings by Ongkie Tan, titled ‘Inky Onky’. Ongkie Tan’s art is sharp, detailed, with a whirr of strokes, mostly in his trademark inky black and occasional subtle colours.

The Roger Anger Exhibition represents an homage dedicated to the artist's centenary, showing an extensive collection of drawings, collages, and sculptures.

Roger Anger, the artist is the first ever exhibition of the work of an artist who, by the age of 40, had won several prestigious architectural prizes, but who never exhibited his paintings or sculptures during his lifetime.

The abstract expressionism of Nele Martens

“My last works were on the theme of circles,” says Nele, showing paintings dominated by strong expressive brushstrokes. She explains how she starts with a concept, a theme, and over a long period, sometimes extending to a year, does innumerable drawings and paintings on that theme, over and over again.

Dasha

Dasha came to Auroville when she was just one year old, and has been living here ever since. She is a self-taught artist who paints as a hobby and because she loves it.

In memoriam - Francois Samson

Om namo bhagavate

This design, incorporating Mother’s mantra, is by François Samson. François lived in Auroville between 1979 and 1986. He planted many trees and helped bring beauty to an eroded landscape.

Mr Smytthe-Buckfast’s drawing of Pterodactyl indica

Sir, With regard to Mr. Smytthe-Buckfast’s letter in the first issue of your publication, I have the following comments to make. Mr. Smytthe-Buckfast displays his appalling lack of knowledge in the field of paleontology when he states that he observed a “Pterodactyl indica” (sic) near the Matrimandir.
