Anand Prasad

Anand Prasad passed away on 8 April. Born in 1957, he studied at the Sri Aurobindo International Centre of Education of the Sri Aurobindo Ashram.

15th Auroville marathon

Run for the Joy of Running, the 15th Auroville Marathon, took place on Sunday, 16 February 2025. Over 3,300 runners from across the world, each carrying their own unique story, determination, and love for running, participated in the full, half and quarter marathons.

In memoriam - Murugan

Murugan

Murugan Adhimoolam left his body on August 11th at the age of 43. Hailing from Kottakarai, Murugan joined Auroville in 2007 and has been working with Michel in Dana’s Flame Pottery.

Tibetan students help with land purchase

Since 2010, the Pavilion of Tibetan Culture in Auroville’s International Zone has been inviting teenage students from the Tibetan Children’s Village school in Dharamshala to come to Auroville for a cultural exchange program during their winter vacation.

Barefoot running has been gaining popularity slowly but surely in Auroville. In the early days, almost every runner was a barefoot runner because sports shoes were simply not available.

Auroville’s eighth marathon took place on February 8th 2015. Around 3,500 people ran the winding dirt trails through Auroville’s forests – the full marathon of 42.195 kilometres, the half marathon of 21 kilometres, the 10K marathon, or, for children and their parents, the shorter run of 5 kilometres.
